Fuori Concorso 2025: A Celebration of Italian Automotive Excellence on Lake Como

Project type

Blog

Date

24-25th May 2025

Location

Como, Italy

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Como, Fuori Concorso 2025 returned in grand fashion over the weekend of May 24–25, transforming the historic villas of Grumello and Sucota into a curated celebration of automotive heritage and innovation. This year’s theme “Velocissimo,” paid tribute to the icons of Italian Formula 1 history—shining a spotlight on legendary race cars, rare collector vehicles, and modern engineering marvels that continue to define the spirit of Italian speed.

Guests were treated to an extraordinary lineup of vehicles rarely seen outside private collections or museum walls. Highlights included the Alfa Romeo 159 Alfetta that once carried Fangio to victory, the beautifully restored Maserati 250F, and a series of iconic Ferrari F1 cars—among them the very machines piloted by Michael Schumacher and Gerhard Berger. This dynamic celebration of motorsport lineage was not just nostalgic—it was kinetic, brought to life through immersive displays, engine revs, and conversations with collectors and brand insiders.

Each villa hosted its own universe of automotive storytelling. At Villa Sucota, Italian craftsmanship took center stage with Maserati and Alfa Romeo showcasing their most iconic models, including the 1975 33 TT 12, the ultra-rare 1965 TZ2, and the highly anticipated modern 33 Stradale. Meanwhile, Villa del Grumello offered a more avant-garde showcase, featuring high-performance vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Pagani, Koenigsegg, and MV Agusta. From the sleek carbon forms of the Pagani Imola to the raw power of the Mercedes CLK GTR, each display felt like a love letter to engineering excellence and design audacity.

A standout moment of the event was the “Icons of Italy” exhibit—a carefully curated collection celebrating Italy’s contribution to automotive history. Legendary names like Ferrari, Lancia, and Maserati were represented by their most revered models: the Ferrari 250 GTO, the Lancia D24, the MC12 GT1, and the cutting-edge 499P hypercar. The juxtaposition of old and new painted a vivid portrait of how Italy’s obsession with speed and style continues to evolve.

What sets Fuori Concorso apart is its setting. The villas and gardens of Lake Como offer more than just a scenic venue—they elevate the entire experience into something cinematic. The soft ripple of the lake, the scent of cypress and blooming jasmine, and the distant roar of V12s together create a multisensory event that feels more like an art exhibition than a typical car show.

Fuori Concorso 2025 was more than an automotive event—it was a cultural moment. By blending heritage with innovation, elegance with adrenaline, and Italy’s rich racing history with its luxurious present, the event reaffirmed its place as one of the most refined and aspirational gatherings in the global automotive calendar.
