Celebrating Luxury and Speed: The International St.Moritz Automobile Week 2023

"The European festival for historic mobility, racing & luxury events in the Swiss Alps" The line of events takes place in and around St. Moritz in Switzerland and recommended for all the petrolheads.

The town and the area around is at 1800 to ~2400m above sea level with stunning mountains, lakes and many more to view.

The base of the event is the Hotel Kempinski in St. Moritz where you can find many luxury and exotic cars in front of the hotel the whole day.

Unfortunately, we missed the first event called Kilométre Lancé that is a drag racing like event on an airstrip near the town.

This year Mercedes-Benz Museum presented 4 special cars:

  • Benz Patent-Motorwagen

  • 1938 MB 540K Streamliner (1of 1)

  • 1952 MB 300SL Racecar LeMans Winner(1 of 1)

  • 1989 Sauber-Mercedes C9

The events were loaded with rare, sometimes 1 of 1 vehicles or very limited production ones,it is actually very hard to name them all in just a blog.

1952 Jaguar XK120 'Jabbeke' speed recorder with factory aero accessories reaching 172Mph is 1953.

Some other special ones

There was a Super Stick Shift where as the name suggests only manual gearbox cars could participate but they were joined by the Stallion Legends St.Moritz. They went on 2 tours even down to the Lago di Garda in Italy.

The week was also host for the auction hosted by RM Sotheby's where there were awesome but affordable oldtimers and again, rarities like Aston Martin DB5, E190 of the late Niki Lauda,Lamborghingi 400GT 2+2,etc.

The final accord was at the Bernina Pass where the Bernina Gran Turismo took place, which is a hillclimb racing.
